Cyber hybrid class is consisted of both online and offline classes. Classes are conducted online through the hybrid lecture system and 5 or more classes during 15 weeks are conducted offline (face-to-face classes). (There is no online-only course.)

Our school offers about 3 cyber hybrid classes for every semester and students can take up to 1 cyber hybrid class per semester.

 

You cannot take a leave of absence during the first semester after admission. You can apply for a leave of absence from the second semester and it is allowed only once (1 semester) while in school. However, the period of leave of absence can be extended only in special cases such as illness, childbirth, or overseas dispatch.

In principle, you should write your thesis in Korean, however, you are allowed to write it in a foreign language under the approval of your academic advisor.

The Institute for Far East Studies is a research institute affiliated to Kyungnam University, established for the purpose of providing theoretical approaches and policy alternatives to the establishment of peace in Northeast Asia and unification of the Korean Peninsula. Since its establishment in 1972, it has been actively conducting research and academic activities and evaluated as having the most systematic achievements in the field of unification and North Korea. Based on these research accomplishments, Kyungnam University's Graduate School of North Korean Studies and the University of North Korean Studies of nowadays were able to be established. With this as an opportunity, both organizations have created a synergistic effect organizationally combining the research function of the institute and the educational function of the graduate school.
